Glen Cove Avenue Retaining Wall Status Update
Project to repair the aging retaining wall on Glen Cove Avenue.
Background:
Project to rebuild the retaining wall (which collapsed over three years ago) at Glen Cove Avenue and Harbor Way.

Status as of November 1, 2025
The County continues to delay the request to begin and complete repairs to this wall heavily trafficked by children walking to school, to avoid another wall collapse. The Civics have followed up repeatedly, and although the County says the job is out for bids, it will not commit to a repair timeline. We will continue to press the County to move forward with these repairs and prevent another potential wall failure.

Status as of August 18, 2025
The wall that collapsed over three years ago was partially repaired by the County but never fully restored. The Civics have been continuously following up to ensure the wall—heavily used by children walking to the Middle and High Schools—is completely rebuilt. The County has now confirmed it will be rebuilt and cleaned up, providing final plans. We will keep the community informed on the project’s start date.
